Medallion Homes, Carlos Beruff and Sarasota County; Promised to disclose Waverley homes & Meritage homes were built adjacent to a landfill.
We will help them inform the new buyers !
– Sarasota County may own the underground trash and toxins, why did they not remove them,  prior to building ?  Who is responsible for setting up existing homes to flood, by building up the property so much higher than existing homes – This land used to be a huge retention area for flood waters ?  Bad Engineering – Be ready for the flood and fight !
– Sarasota County Board of County Commission approved the rezone without Vetting or testing for known underground Toxins located under Sarasota Counties Known Toxic Landfill Property!

My child has a learning disability , my friend contracted lung cancer,  I had to put my dog down from cancer…   Is it bad luck or bad government ?  I am not trying to get even, I am trying to help you and future families living here.
So many times we blame our selves, our genes, our luck.  Moffit Cancer Institute in Tampa stated over 70% of cancers are directly related to environmental causes.  Sarasota County and FDEP know today that deadly toxins lay beneath homes in the area, but will not tell you and will not spend the pennies to test for these already located poisons, placed there by Sarasota County years ago.
You cannot fix destroyed lives by saying “I am sorry”, “We did not think to test” years later.   Your elected officials hope you never learn how you friends and family got sick, because they will be out of office as you are attached to an IV in the fight for your life.
ASK THE Sarasota COMMISSIONERS HOW MUCH  Benzene, Lead, Chromium… IS UNDER YOUR HOME ? – They do not want to know how much is underground nor where it is located.  Removing the toxins is more costly than just building over it.  The toxins were placed their by SARASOTA COUNTY!  FDEP, Sarasota County Commissioners Will Not test underground, answer my questions, my emails and phone calls to Charles Masella at the Department of Environmental Protection, resulted in him not allowed to speak with me, and hanging up in my ear!  I need your help, the elderly and others living in this area need your help.

Powerful Strategies for Cancer Prevention

Did you know that environmental exposures, lifestyle choices and other factors that can be changed or avoided account for between 70 percent to 90 percent of gene mutations that cause cancer? That’s according to new research published in Nature.

………This year, more than 1 million Americans and more than 10 million people worldwide are expected to be diagnosed with cancer, a disease commonly believed to be preventable. Only 5–10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90–95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle.  -Springer Pharmaceutical Research PMC2515569

Watch the trailer Your Family Can Not Afford to ignore this – URGENT !

MisLEAD Trailer, 2 min, 30 seconds from Tamara Rubin on Vimeo.

“You know, I’ve had it. Politicians in Sarasota County are useless.  They waste our money, they make America weaker….” We have requested the following questions be answered by the BCC, County Attorney (Steve DeMarsh), FDEP (Charles Masella & Jon Iglehart).  the Inspector General , in both public forum, in writing and in person for over 2 years. To date, We have not received an on point response.   These are the most basic of questions, directly tied to health and human safety for over 2000 interested people living in the Sarasota Area.  All questions are in regards to chemicals that were previously located on or near this property in the past, Toxins we know are present: Lead, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, toluene, dichlorofuorofluoromehtan, dichloroethene, vinyl chrloride, chlorobenzene, dichlorodifluoromethane and underground pockets of leachate.

1. Please provide us with test results for all deep soil boring that were done on this property prior to Rezone that would detect high concentrations of heavy metals and aforementioned chemicals, and the location and depth tested ?

2. Please provide us with all testing done below 5′ of the topsoil to detect Lead, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, toluene, dichlorofuorofluoromehtan, dichloroethene, vinyl chrloride, chlorobenzene, dichlorodifluoromethane ?

3. Please provide us with location and depth of the testing that would detect Lead, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, toluene, dichlorofuorofluoromehtan, dichloroethene, vinyl chrloride, chlorobenzene, dichlorodifluoromethane?

Sarasota County encouraged Carlos Beruff to put homes on untested toxic land!

When your friends and family get sick, they will be out of office. Lead, Barium, Cadmium Chromium, toluene, dichlorofluoromethane, dichloroethene, vinyl chloride, chlorobenzene, and underground pockets of leachate.

Sarasota County Commission knows Toxic Lead, Benzene, Chromium exist in excess of legal limits. They saw all the testing below, their is No Doubt! Should your family live on Sarasota County’s Toxins ?

The only doubt will be “WHO is responsible for the next cancer”, it is not your fault! Building on or near landfills has failed miserably in Florida, families got sick, homes were destroyed, Mothers & Fathers were devastated. Static testing does not always work on old, unlined landfills – DEP stated it was toxic just 10 years prior (toxins do not vanish). We Love Foxfire – Nowhere else can you be to work in 15 minutes, on the interstate in 5 minutes, or be at home with acreage, horses and the best of neighbors. Welcome to Foxfire – Sarasota’s Number one Premier Community! Request password to view private test documents.

Unscientific methods used in determining boundaries of the landfill, people today are sick because of environmental cancers, people have died because of same. Would let your family live on, or insure a home, knowing the area is an untested toxic dump? We are 100% sure Toxic Lead & Benzene is under this property, NO DOUBT.

I personally contacted the developers and offered to share information, if they would allow me perform deep bores on the subject property, they refused my offer and request.

From the Sarasota Herald Newspaper:

Landfills were largely unregulated at the time. Several garbage-hauling companies and individuals brought garbage to the landfill for six years. The rates for much of that time were 25 cents for a car, 50 cents for a pickup truck and 75 cents for a large truck. There was apparently no regulation about what was dumped.

In March 1972, the county closed this landfill, because it had opened the Bee Ridge Landfill. Melvin Steinbaum, developer of the Foxfire subdivision, bought the property from the county in 1978 for $103,000 and built the golf course on top of it.… 1996 and hired Environmental Associates and Consultants to conduct a study. EAC found levels of lead, napthalenes and benzene that exceeded Florida DEP standards. Further testing found levels of lead, cadmium, chromium, chloroform, benzene and bromo-dichlormethane that exceeded those standards.
That study, however, was not brought to the attention of county officials – who just discovered it in recent weeks. National Fairways did not buy Foxfire.
People who care, with good reason – If your intent is to protect the public, Please Listen ! This is all relevant to RP 14-17 as it specifically refers to building anything on this specific property.

“I am a scientist……My Neighbors Began to Die” Medallion Homes may build here.

Attorney Simon Rosin knows the property well. He is an officer of the court and an expert on this land. He was a practicing attorney when said landfill included the entire golf course property; DDT and toxic chemicals were dumped there!

Alex Butakow “County must hold builders to standards of MARIAN ANDERSON PLACE LANDFILL SITE”

In my opinion, Joseph Barbetta was one of the most knowledgeable County Commissioners ever elected. He knows and loves Sarasota, it is his home and his passion. Listen carefully to his comments and the convoluted facts on this property.

Shawn Driscoll states facts about other homes built near landfills in Florida that are NOT INSURABLE. People around the landfill and animals have contracted environmental cancer. Cindy Samwebber has lived here for 36 years…Listen before you vote!

Sarasota Planning Commissioner asks if public safety should matter over Rezoning property for building. What is he thinking?> Listen to the meeting clip.
